Weekly Post---Is Lying Wrong?

OK, most of us would say "ya, lying is wrong" but what about when some asks you how they look when they really look horrible. Do you tell them they look horrible, to you try and sweet coat it, try to avoid the question all together, or do you just outright lye and tell them they look good?

Next question, are all of the above options (except telling them they look horrible) lying?

What do you think? Is a little white lye still a lye? If it is, is it ok?

If you answer this with a good argument I might enter you into some kind of drawing to win a new CD I just bought today.

yea, any kind of lie is the same in gods eyes, even if one is like telling somebody that they look good instead of horrible and that somebody was to kill people who drive fords(BOOO)..... The BIBLE says that every SIN is EQUAL!!!!

alan, where does it say that?

In regards to both eternal consequences and salvation, all sins are the same. Each and every sin will lead to eternal condemnation (Romans 6:23). All sin, no matter how “small,” is against God, and is therefore worthy of penalty. Thier is no sin too “big” that God cannot forgive it. Jesus died to pay the penalty for sin (1 John 2:2). Jesus died for ALL of our sins (2 Corinthians 5:21).

Are all sins equal to God? Yes and no.

In severity?
No.

In penalty?
Yes.

In forgivability?
Yes.
